Welcome!

I, and my new website, are very glad to have you! I hope to be able to update this and my blog with some frequency (except for the times when I can't) and to get a chance to connect with you more directly through questions, comments and emails. I love to hear your thoughts, ideas, praise (if you have any) -and even your criticisms. Those help me too.

Because it is the eve of my publication day, I am thinking a lot-and with some nervousness-about my new book, The Last Summer (of You and Me.) For me it represents both a departure and a certain amount of continuity. It's a new setting (a barrier beach island), new characters (two sisters and the boy they've grown up with) a new age group (they are in their twenties) and no pants. Well, these characters do wear pants occasionally, but only of the normal, non-magical variety. The Last Summer is similar to my other books in that it has a strong love story in the middle and it's about sisterhood and friendship. If you have enjoyed the Sisterhood books, I think and hope you will enjoy this new one.

I'm going to be touring a lot in the next two weeks, so I most warmly and sincerely invite you to come to one of my readings if you live near one of the places I'm visiting. Times and places are listed on my Upcoming Events page. I would be so very happy to meet you in person.
